Summary: So very interesting to see the catacombs and lava caves that have been uncovered and discovered in Catania. The tour gave 5 different types of underground experiences starting with a system of Roman saunas and baths under the Duomo. We then went to a restaurant where there was a spectacular underground basalt grotto and then to thermal baths. The final visit was to a little church celebrating St. Agatha created in a grotto. The guide was absolutely fabulous and the tour was truly memorable.

Summary: Very interesting, excellent tour. You get to experience the ruins of the Roman Amphitheater with a very knowledgeable guide, then two underground crypts/sites not open to the public, both very important in Catania history. Our guide Ostense was outstanding. A professional archeologist as well as tour guide.
